“Mudpack Festival 2015” by Jonin Marie Gargoles

Traveling is such a great pleasure for us teenagers. Some of us travel to seek for happiness,  to know  different cultures,  to explore more places,  to make memories,  to enjoy the moment,  to take a lot of pictures,  to unwind,  to appreciate  the beauty of nature and many more.

I am a graduating  student every memories needed to be treasured. I had a great adventure with the whole class to witness the most prestigious Mudpack Festival in Mambukal Resort.   The much anticipated Mudpack Festival is celebrated every third weekend of June at Mambukal Resort.

The Mudpack Festival is a symbolic presentation that seeks to instill awareness in caring for the environment. Dancers are painted and coated with colorful mud found abundant in the resort. The Mudpack Festival is a different event as it centers on the harmony of man and nature. The celebration features Mambukal’s distinct multi-colored clay to stir people’s awareness of the importance of our environment. It is a Festival of Arts and this serves as venue where artist from all over Negros gather to exhibit their respective artistic talents in ethnic dances, crafts and music.

We enjoyed the different colorful tribe dancers dancing on the spotlight.  It’s been a long day we travel from Bacolod City  to Municipality of Murcia to witness the amazing festival. We were entertained by the different tribes performing on stage.  They truly express their deeper meaning of taking good care of our environment.  Mambukal Mountain  Resort established a healthy lifestyle to keep our environment clean all the time.  The whole class also enjoyed different recreational activities in the resort.  Some of us went to the seven falls, we took  plenty of pictures and funny videos near in the boating area,  singing together while walking down the road,  appreciating the beauty of nature, and endless happy moments together.

The gift of friendship is very priceless.  Every minute and every seconds is like a precious diamond need to be treasured.  I can’t believe that we are already Seniors. Great and unforgettable memories will always tattooed in our hearts and souls.  I believe in angels, the kind that heaven sends.  I’m surrounded by angels, and I call them my best friends.
